World’s largest belt buckle unveiled in Texas

Have you ever thought maybe the belt buckle was just too big? Even so, nothing compares to the most recent belt buckle from Montana Silversmiths. Guinness World Records confirms the Montana-based company built the world’s largest belt buckle.

The large belt buckle was designed mirroring a belt buckle that is sold in stores. According to the Guinness World Records, the large-scale replica, which achieved the record title in Dallas measures 3.20-by-4.43 meter (10 feet, 6 inches tall and 14 feet, 6.4 inches wide). This feat took over six month to create.

“We are paying homage to a quintessential piece of the West and cowboy way of life,” chief marketing officer Judy Wagner told the Guinness World Records. “The buckle is a perfect way to celebrate the industry and come together to showcase our lifestyle in iconic fashion. It’s a culmination of a lot of people’s hard work, it is amazing.”

The buckle was created to commemorate the company’s 50th anniversary in 2023.

The piece was crafted in four separate pieces so it could be shipped to the Montana Silversmiths’ Dallas showroom. Each section weighed a whopping 250 pounds and needed special stands to hold it upright. Once in Texas, the four pieces were placed together to create the biggest belt buckle in the world.

The belt was crafted after an existing belt the company has for sale, the Big Horn buckle, which showcases a large cowboy silhouette, golden flowers, silver stars, and the company’s signature silver filigree.

The previous record claim went to a buckle featured in Uranus, Missouri, where signage attesting to the Guinness World Record certification shows that buckle to measure in at 13.371 feet wide and 10.12 feet tall. It wasn’t by much that the new Texas buckle edged out the Missouri one. Not to mention, the Missouri one was decided less flashy than what Texas delivered.
