Woman dies after being trampled by cattle in West Sussex

Police are investigating after a woman was trampled to death by cattle at a farm in Billingshurst, West Sussex.

Emergency services were called to a field in Rowner Road on Monday morning (22 August), after concerns had been raised for the welfare of a 55-year-old woman.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene and her next of kin have been informed.

A Sussex Police statement said: “The woman had sustained her injuries after being trampled by cattle in the field. The death is not being treated as suspicious.

“Officers are investigating and have appealed for any witnesses in the area at the time to come forward.”
