Keen to increase its share in the US electric vehicle market, the Volkswagen Group announced last week that it will launch an all-new, all-electric pickup and SUV.
Resurrecting the Scout brand, which was previously made by International Harvester, the EVs will be designed, engineered and manufactured in the US – the only place they will be available.

To get the project off the ground, Volkswagen is investing a hefty £100m to push the vehicles into production by 2026.
Those hoping for a sneak peak of the new pickup and SUV will have to wait for the prototype models to be revealed next year.
While further details are being kept under wraps for now, the German maker has announced that the off-road vehicles won’t follow in the footsteps of the firm’s current EVs, but will instead be based on an entirely new technical platform.
