Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam

Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU), Kerala has introduced M.Tech in Energy Science. Mahatma Gandhi Institution is a state university in Kerala’s Kottayam district that was founded in 1983. Around 100 affiliated institutions are under the university’s administration, which is located across five districts in central Kerala. It is also known as MG University or MGU and is one of India’s top 50 institutions.

The university offers more than 300 academic programs in diverse fields such as Engineering, Management, Medical, Arts, Commerce, Journalism, and many more. Admission to the university’s numerous UG, PG, and Research programs are based on a candidate’s merit in their qualifying degree or their grades in the university entrance test, CAT-MGU.

Kerala Agriculture University, Thrissur

In 1971, the Kerala Agricultural University (KAU) was founded. Agriculture, horticulture, and forestry programs at the university include bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees. Admission to UG programs is based on the CEE (Common Entrance Exam), whereas admission to PG courses is based on written examinations and interviews. Only online versions of the applications are available.

Calicut University, Calicut

Calicut Institution, often known as Calicut University, is a state-run university in Kerela, India. The UGC has acknowledged the institution, and the NAAC has given it an “A” rating. Calicut University is ranked 60 in the University category by NIRF 2021, and 95 overall. Calicut University has 395 associated colleges, 34 postgraduate and research departments, 3 centers, 11 chairs, and 34 postgraduate and research departments.

Calicut University now offers full-time Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Doctoral programs across several departments. In addition, in some courses, the institution provides Distance Mode instruction. Calicut University admits students to its courses depending on their performance in the University Entrance Exam. The KEAM score is used to choose students for the flagship B.Tech degree, whereas CAT/MAT/CMAT/KMAT scores are used to select students for Calicut University MBA admissions. Kerala Agriculture University, Kasaragod

Through conducting, interfacing, and integrating education, research, and extension in these spheres of econometrics, Kerala Agricultural University (KAU) is the state’s primary instrument in providing human resources, skills, and technology for the state’s agriculture, which is defined broadly as all land and water-based production activities, including crop production (agriculture), forestry, and fisheries. It’s in the Vellanikkara district of Kerala’s Thrissur. Courses available in this university are:

Kerala Agricultural University, College of Horticulture Vellanikkara, Thrissur

The College of Horticulture was founded in 1972 with the primary goal of establishing a graduate degree in Horticulture and bolstering research and extension operations in Horticultural crops. In 1972, the B.Sc. (Hort.) degree program began with a class of 20 students.

Since 1976, M.Sc. (Hort. ), M.Sc. (Ag.) programs in agronomy, Agricultural Botany, Soil Science & Agriculture, Chemistry, and Agriculture have been offered. Entomology and Plant Pathology are two fields of study. Ph.D. programs in the aforementioned subjects began in 1979. Following that, M.Sc. programs in Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Extension, Agricultural Meteorology, Agricultural Statistics, and Home Science were established (Food Science and Nutrition).

Private agricultural colleges in Kerala

College of Forestry, Vellanikkara

The college of forestry was founded in 1986. MSc Forestry in Wild Life Sciences, Forest Management & Utilization, Forest Biology & Tree Improvement, Wood Science, Tree Physiology & Breeding courses are available. The main goal of the college is to train professionals in forestry so that they can take up the challenges for conversation and sustainable management. A bachelor’s degree in forestry and a master’s degree in forestry are both available.

College of Agriculture, Vellayani

Vellayani College of Agriculture was founded in 1955 and is located in Thrissur. The Vellayani College of Agriculture provides postgraduate, undergraduate, and research programs that are supported by 14 distinct institution departments. The Commisionarate of Entrance Examinations, the Government of Kerala, conducts the Common Entrance Examination for UG courses. The University Committee conducts written tests and interviews to determine admission to PG programs. Courses offered by the college are:

  • BSc in Agriculture, MSc in Biotechnology, Agricultural economics Agricultural Entomology, Agricultural Extension, Agricultural Microbiology, Agricultural statistics, genetics and plant breeding, plant biotechnology, Plant pathology, Soil Science & agricultural chemistry, Horticulture Floriculture, Processing Technology with a tuition cost of 35000
  • Ph.D. in Floriculture and landscaping, Home science, agricultural entomology, agro chemistry& soil science, Plant Biotechnology, Agriculture Extension. Admission to this program is based on the candidate’s overall performance. With a first-year tuition charge of INR 33,500

College of Agriculture, Padannakkad

Padannakkad College of Agriculture is located in the state of Kerala. Padannakkad College of Agriculture was founded in 1994. . It’s a top college for Agriculture Science and Technology, as well as Science and Mathematics. Padannakkad College of Agriculture is located in Kasargod, Kerala. This institution offers more than 9 courses in a variety of specialties.

There are a total of 7 courses in Agriculture Science and Technology. Only the B.Sc. (Hons.) (Agriculture) program is available as an undergraduate study.
