Texas house creates ag skeleton scenes thanks to local FFA

Since 2020, a family in San Antonio has been creating hilarious skeleton scenes in their front yard, swapped out frequently throughout the Halloween season. This year’s displays have neighbors stopping, and social media watching thanks to a Skeleton House Vet and Groomers, a rodeo scene, and even a skeleton barbeque cookout.

The house has been dubbed the Skeleton House of San Antonio and has been shared on Good Morning San Antonio and TV station KSAT Connect.

Today’s display features a set of dogs and items from the James Madison Northeast Agriscience Magnet Program. When the skeletons aren’t decorating the lawn, the instructor uses them to teach equine science and small animal sciences — double win!

Earlier this week, the Skeleton House held a rodeo. The skeleton horse came from the FFA program at the high school — and what rodeo is complete without a good, ol’ fashioned fish-roping horse?

And, when you run out of cattle … the family has a skeleton of two ready to take on the job of a calf.

According to KSAT, the original crew was just two skeletons. Now, they have a full family of four adults, a kid, dog, cat, and piranha.

The displays take about 20 minutes to build with a little bit of prep the night before. Previous scenes have included yoga, construction, a body shop, and more.

In between set changes, however, there’s always time for a good, old-fashioned barbeque — bone-appetite!

Keep an eye out for upcoming scenes: maybe we’ll even see more ag-centric ones with the support of James Madison’s FFA Chapter.
