About the webinar
The webinar presenter will be Elizabeth “Gizzy” Gray, Ph.D., a licensed clinical social worker, certified addictions counselor and credentialed advocate. She is also associate director of Policy and Legislation with the Defense Suicide Prevention Office.
“The risk factors for suicide and for intimate partner violence, IPV, are similar, and understanding how these factors impact the military community is vitally important,” said Rachel Brauner, AgriLife Extension program specialist, Bryan-College Station. “This webinar will explain the intersection of risk factors that can lead to intimate partner violence and suicide and look at prevention strategies for advocates and clinicians serving the military community.”
Brauner said during the webinar Gray will:
— Discuss how suicide and IPV risk factors intersect and are comparable.
— Look at ways to strengthen coordinated community response.
— Describe common suicide risk factors.
