Sikes will replace current CEO Dave MacLennan, who has been with the company since 1991 and in the role of CEO since 2013. MacLennan will assume the role of executive chair of Cargill’s board of directors.
During his tenure, MacLennan led major acquisitions including EWOS, Diamond V, Sanderson and Wayne Farms. In addition, the company built expertise in alternative proteins and has developed technologies and digital solutions to transform farming, supply chains, and food delivery during his tenure.
Sikes currently serves as Cargill’s COO and has held leadership roles in the US, Canada, and Europe, and served as the head of the company’s Talent Center of Expertise.
