Danish firm Dalbo has launched a new diamond-shaped 8m disc cultivator.

The Powerchain 800 is kitted out with four disc chains, each sporting 31-35 discs at a 40deg angle. This, Dalbo says, ensures a full cut across the working width.

The chains are hydraulically adjustable, and the individual discs can be fitted with weights to alter their working depth.

A seeding unit with a capacity of 300-500 litres can also be fitted, so that cultivation and sowing can be carried out in the same pass.

Currently, the Powerchain 800, which has a power requirement of about 200hp, is the only model available, but Dalbo has promised other working widths in the future.

While currently only available in limited numbers, the Powerchain 800 will go into full production later in the year, retailing for £52,000.
