Child care provider conference program set Aug. 27 in San Angelo

The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will host the sixth annual “Wild About Kids” Child Care Providers Conference on Aug. 27 in San Angelo.

The program will be held at Education Service Center, ESC, Region 15at612 S. Irene Street in San Angelo from 8 a.m.-3 p.m.

Preregistration is required by Aug. 24 to https://tx.ag/WildAboutKids. The cost is $30 for general attendees and $40 for directors.

“We’ll address key areas within child care for providers,” said Courtney Redman, AgriLife Extension family and community health agent, Tom Green County. “We will also have a session for directors focusing on communication with families. We are looking forward to this child care conference, which will also have a lot of hands-on activities.”

There will be 6-7 clock training hours available for child care providers and directors.

Conference topics, speakers

Expert speakers from Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, Angelo State University, Shannon Hospital and Region 15 ESC will cover many topics, including:

  • Pediatric first aid.
  • Disabilities and special needs child care.
  • Classroom management.
  • Learning through hands-on activities.
